Adoption Status: We are not accepting applications at this time. When Megan is ready for adoption we will post a date and time when we will begin accepting applications.

Introduction: Beautiful sweet Megan is still abit camera shy and does not enjoy being handled so we are going slowly and she is acclimating very well.

Personality: Megan is timid and avoids contact however if you sit still and do not attempt to touch her, she will come to you and sniff you abit. Her foster parents have been working slowly to build trust but she is very shy and does not do well with physical touch. We have had some wonderful support from an excellent professional trainer as well as our veterinary care team who are assisting with medication supplements to help Megan overcome her fears and trust. Her rehabilitation is a long process and she will bite if cornered or contact is forced however this is improving. She will not yet play with other dogs but is getting so close to play. She is curious and interested and observes everything and everyone with interest. We feel she is so close to breaking through and are fully confident that she will find sufficient comfort and trust to be able to safely go for walks, grooming etc. Meagan’s personality is very gentle and sweet and we can see her wanting to love and trust and it is going to happen. She may always be the timid shy girl who does not want tons of cuddles but we need to bring her to a point where her fears are not an obstacle to her health and safety.

House training/Pee Pad Training: Megan is doing well learning outdoor training.

Walks/leash training: Megan does not like being handled and does not respond well to having the harness put on her but she is slowly learning and in time we are confident this will be something she will become adept at managing.

Children: Megan will not be a dog we allow to be with children as she is fearful and has a bite history.

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Megan is in a foster home with two other dogs and doing well. By far her favourite “person” is the cat in her home. They spend time grooming one another and cuddling. Megan has shown through this that she really is a very gentle soul and just needs time to learn humans are just as awesome as her feline best friend.

Best Home Environment: Megan will need calm confident owners and no children. Will seek a home with a secure fenced yard that she can roam and will allow her outdoor time without forced human contact of being harnessed and on leash.

Health: Megan is in good health and has had all her heath care plan completed. She is on several medications to assist her in coping with and overcoming her fears which is helping her tremendously. We do believe as she learns and finds her confidence that the medication will be weaned and reduced gradually.

History: Megan is an owner breeder surrender

Adoption Fee: When she is ready for adoption, her fee will be $400
